The story of a woman who, after her husband is killed in an accident, moves from New Jersey to Phoenix with her son Tommy to find her break as a singer. All the while, she works as a waitress at Mel's diner (where most of the scenes were played out), along with an interesting cast of characters. There was the flamboyant, crude, but kindhearted
Flo and the quieter but zany Vera to round out Mel's staff of waitresses |
