HONEY WEST |
| Honey
West - Anne Francis
Sam Bolt - John Ericson Aunt Meg - Irene Harvey |
Anne Francis won an Emmy nomination for her role as the distaff side of the video secret agent "Honey West" -- proficient of course, in the martial arts (she was a bit of female James Bond); accompanied by an always admiring, if less resourceful, adventurer Sam Bolt. A TV female detective was a rarity in 1965. For Honey, she had inherited the family detective business and partner Sam from her late father. She owned a weapons arsenal full of the most amazing devices, used a specially modified lipstick that contained a radio transmiiter, traveled in a mobile spy van, and had everything else necessary to track down criminals, including a trench coat. "Honey
West" was introduced to TV audiences in an April, 1965 episode of
"Burke's Law," in which the sexy sleuth even outwitted Amos
Burke. |
