The story of two brothers determined to maintain the family ranch after the death of their father. Set in the Wyoming territory of the 1870's, Laramie revolved around Slim's and his 14-year-old brother Andy's responsibility of running the ranch. Although possessed of great potential, it had been barley able to provide a living for the Shermans before their father's death. Help came from a drifter named Jess Harper, who wandered in and was persuaded to settle down and throw in his lot with the family. Besides raising cattle, the Shermans ran a relay station for stagecoach traffic, which accounted for many a desperado passing through.
