What Is
Videotape Trading ?
Videotape
trading is the practice of trading home recorded video tapes of material with
other collectors on a non-profit basis. Each person will record material the
other person requests, and then the tapes are "swapped".
Generally tapes with content (non-blanks) are swapped tape-for-tape on an equal
time basis.
If you're new to tape trading, here are some tape trading
tips.

What
if I don't have anything on a person's want list to trade?
Many different collectors
will trade for various things. Contact the person you are looking to deal with
to see if they have any suggestions for you.
What about
trading commercially-released videos ?
As is the practice of most videotape trading hobbyists, material traded is
ALWAYS that of off-air taping by a home VCR from collector to collector only
for their home personal enjoyment. Addtionally, episodes that are commercially
available on VHS and DVD are purposely not available through most traders. And
in our on-going effort to be an helpful and informative site, we occassionaly
offer links to sites where you can purchase these commercially-released episodes
and programs. In general, a great site to get the latest info on TV shows currently
available on DVD is at www.tvshowsondvd.com.
I don't
get my favorite TV show on my cable system. Who can help me?
