1964 1964 was Bruno Sammartino's first full year as WWWF Champion. Bruno had 6 main challengers that year which included Waldo Von Erich, Gorilla Monsoon, Killer Kowalski, Hans Mortier, Fred Blassie & Hans Mortier. The Fabulous Moolah was the ladies champ and had a number of title defenses in 1964. Midgets were very popular in 1964 including Sky Lo Lo & Fuzzy Cupid.
Tag Teams The year started with the Tolos Brothers as the Tag Team Champions. They didn't hold the belts long as Argentina Apollo & Don McLarity defeated them in February. In June Dr. Jerry Graham & Luke Graham beat Apollo & McLarity. The Scufflin Hillbillies & The Kentuckians competed in the WWWF in 1964 but neither could win the titles.
