Misc 1973 WWWF

When Stan Stasiak defeated Pedro Morales the announcement that Stasiak was champ was made only on TV, not at the arena, there was a fear of a riot.

Some future WWWF stars were being groomed in Pittsburgh as John L Sullivan (Johnny Valiant), Larry Zbyszko & Bill Eadie (Masked Superstar) were all competing.

Johnny DeFazio & Geeto Mongol phased out their version of the Tag Team Title as they only had one match in 1973 against the Kangaroos.

The Pittsburgh territory was being run by Geeto Mongol & later Pedro Martinez, many old time stars wrestled only in Pittsburgh during 1973.  Waldo Von Erich, Dom DeNucci, Killer Kowalski, Tony Parisi, Eric The Red & Dr. Bill Miller.

Dory Funk Sr. dies at the age of 54, he appeared in the WWWF just months prior to his death wrestling Victor Rivera.
